| Inka's fall collection by Paul |
This weekend October 1-4, 2009, was our first debut of all of our water/ food growing systems in one location. About 1000 people walked through Kat Taylor's ( co founder of Inka ) home for the Junior League home tour. One of the many features of Kat's home was the 'Power Meter", with this new device, you can monitor your electric consumption and costs in a meter the reads out in dollars and cents. So, basically you know exactly how much power you are consuming, financially speaking. This device was invented and developed by Bill Littlehale of Nevada. Soon this device will be available to residents in California. Another big hit of the day was a 'Photovoltaic Glass' awning created by Schott Solar ,and installed by Object Assembly. Chris Whitney, the owner of Object Assembly is also the fabricator and designer of all of our devices for Inka. For this presentation, we set up the 'Rotating Garden' the 'Stretch Garden' the new plastic 'Wall Garden', and the Sun Curve 3.0. The Sun Curve has attracted the imagination of people from all around the world. For the first time it is possible to grow plants and fish in a very small area, and produce extra power to run a computer / phone system. The Stretch is a 1"inch thick fabric or 'Bio-Quilt" that can be installed on fence lines. walls or stretched between poles. Any way, we got a great response from the people there and it is encouraging to see that people from all walks of life are interested in our work. And to that end. This week , we have unveiled our 'Wall Garden'. This consumer model wall garden can grow vegetables, herbs, flowers and grasses vertically in a simple to install and operate garden. The grow area is about 1 meter x 1 meter. The exterior dimensions are 36" X48".
We designed a built this vertical garden so that almost anyone can own and operate it. We are keeping the price as low as possible, ($299.) and still keeping all the components high quality, and assuring that the garden is an actual rugged 'tool'. As we continue to design and develop our market line of products we will tell you about it here.
On October 16-18, 2009 we will be presenting our Sun Curve 3.0 and Stretch gardens at the Bioneers conference, at the Marin Civic center. Our next public presentation will be at the 'Tech Museum' in San Jose on November 9-23,2009. We will be collaborating with ISKEM. The reason for the exhibits is to educate and inspire people to think of sustainable and innovative ways to grow food and to build awareness for the work ISKME does with Open Educational Resources (OER) and innovative, collaborative processes for teachers and learners.
And last but not least , we will be presenting at the "Green Festival' in San Francisco on November 13-15, at the Concourse center. Please come and check us out , we will have 2 booths and David Bealby ,our CEO will be speaking at the Sustainable Construction tent.
Cheers,
Paul
