The Inka Wall Garden can grow almost any kind of plant except root vegetables. It can grow flowers, grasses, herbs, fruit, vegetables and many other types of plants in the appropriate environment, climate and season. In fact, we are interested in the successes you have had.
The best results are achieved when the plants are married to the climate and the season. Light, water, temperature, and humidity are chief factors affecting plant growth, and any one of these factors in incorrect proportions may prevent or interfere with plant growth. To help monitor your plant's water in-take, the water supply can be metered by a timer.
If you want to push the envelope and grow plants out of season or in a different climate, it is necessary to house the Wall Garden in a greenhouse to be able to have better control over the growing environment. However, for best results, we suggest selecting plants that require the same environmental conditions as the location of the Inka Wall Garden rather than altering the environment to suit the plants.
Technical Specifications
The Wall Garden is a free standing or wall mounted vertical food production system using patented technology that supports hydroponic food production. The external dimensions are 3 feet by 4 feet and it has a 2 foot 7 inch square growing area consisting of the Inka patented 'Bio-quilt'. No earth or soil is used in the growing process. Plants are planted as seedlings in the "Bio-quilt" and the Wall Garden circulates water and nutrients to the seedlings, which aids the plants' vegetation production rather than root production. This generally increases the standard growth-rate of plants.
To operate the Wall Garden, a 110 volt, GFCI protected power supply is required. You will also need hydroponic nutrients, a nutrient measurement system and a timer; a starter kit of these supplies is included with the unit. Replacement supplies are available for purchase from most hydroponic supply stores. The Wall Garden is not recommended for indoor use.
